Growing up, I had a beautiful, loving family, but when I was 20, I was separated from my parents due to the political instability in my country, Sudan. Upon arrival in South Sudan, the same scenario occurred, and I fled to Kenya in search of refuge.

After graduating from high school, I was fortunate to be hired as a 3D printing technology trainer by a non-profit organization. It was a good job, but it didn’t pay enough to make ends meet. When I was looking for a better employment, I discovered the digital world and began a new journey to learn digital entreprenuership.

Inspired by billionaire Robert T. Kiyosaki’s book, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”, I joined several cources online, social media marketing, web design, photography, and cinematography. Through this hard time in my life, I joined many more programs and read any book by a billionaire my hands land on.

Covid presented further obstacles, and the majority of us lost our jobs and I too! This is when I received my wake-up call! I knew I needed to change my life! I needed a backup plan in my life! After covit, I got another job as a mentor of the LEAP program run by Solidarity Initiative for Refugees (SIR), By 2023, my students at SIR had generated over 14 million Kenyan shillings through internet-based work. That was when I got the courage that my dedication to assisting people can go beyond the classroom.

My first year at SIR was quite rewarding since I was able to make ends meet. I get paid at the end of each month from my job, plus I also get a consistent income from my new web hosting company and do some freelance work online. However, I missed freedom to enjoy life out of the office. My new job at SIR required me to work five days a week from 8:00 to 5:00, with a four-year contract. That was Hell!

That forced me to quit and begin a new life, a digital lifestyle. Now I am very happy to have a business that works automatically in the background, where I can determine my timetable and it fits around my life and everything that is important to me.
